Thank you for your generous contribution which will directly impact on the lives of those suffering from Macular Degeneration and their families, through education, awareness, support, research and representation. The evening was great entertainment and the guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Your generous donation of pamper package for the auction and your ongoing contribution to community is appreciated and certainly helped make the evening such a success and once again, our sincere thanks.

Clear Vision Dinner at Sky City, Hamilton

Dear Angela

Macular Degeneration New Zealand (MDNZ) Clear Vision Dinner at Sky City, Hamilton last Friday evening was a great success.

We had 300 guests who were more than well entertained by John Adshead (Coach of NZ All Whites in World Cup 1982 & MDNZ Ambassador), Sir Colin Meads (All Black rugby legend & MDNZ Ambassador), Sir Peter Leitch (huge rugby league supporter & MDNZ Ambassador), Dame Susan Devoy and the delightful young Olympian BMX silver medalist Sarah Walker.  The vibes in the room were electric and people mixed and mingled.  It was a really happy night.

Your very generous donation  of a Pamper Package at Salon One was auctioned off for $105 and the Trustees of MDNZ cannot thank you enough for your huge support.

I am forwarding Sir Peter’s weekly newsletter wherein he refers to the MDNZ event in his opening paragraph and if you scroll down, gives full coverage in an article with accompanying photos.  Great exposure to a wide audience to bring awareness of the condition Macular Degeneration.

Dear Angela

Thank you very much for your generous support. Western BOP Heart Kids Day Out will be at Tauranga Girls High School on the 1st April. Those attending will be treated to a line-up of entertainers with the crowd pleasing Clowns, magicians, jugglers and laughter for the young and the young at heart.

We would like to sincerely thank you for the wonderful support you have recently provided. @Heart (formerly Heart Children New Zealand) has been supporting heart children and families since 1984. It is the only charity dedicated to supporting children with heart defects and their families throughout New Zealand. A congenital heart condition is the most common serious birth abnormality needing on going medical intervention. Each week, 12 children are born in New Zealand with a heart defect and every year 30–40 children lose their battle to survive. @Heart is a national organisation with 22 branches and support groups.

@Heart provides heart children and their families with practical and emotional support through its Family Support Network. Each year @Heart organises special Camps; Camp Brave Hearts for 8–12 year olds and Camp Teen Beat for 13–17 year olds. Most heart children do not get the opportunity to go to school camps due to their health. Heart camps help heart kids improve life skills and self confidence.

Many children and their families from throughout the country will at some stage spend time at Auckland’s Paediatric Cardiac Unit in Starship Hospital which is the only Unit in New Zealand. @Heart provides support whilst in hospital that includes visits from the Family Support Worker, providing practical items such as phone cards and essentials such as toiletries and food vouchers.

@Heart to most is a friendly face away from home. Situated next to the hospital, families are welcome for a coffee and to use the phone or the internet. When the children and families go home they are linked to the local branch or support group for ongoing support.

Thank you once again for making it possible to provide these services. Your generosity isgreatly appreciated.

Yours faithfully,

Lara Syddall
Chief Executive Officer

Well done to our fabulous clients who donated $206.00 towards hair for a cause.

Thank you.

The money has been passed on.

Dear Angela,

We do appreciate you! Thank you so much for the opportunity you gave to our student/s to work with you and your team,

It is easy to forget what it is like to be sixteen or seventeen year old starting out, knowing little about working. There is so much that they need to learn and be aware of in regards to employment. Without exception each student has growen in knowledge, skills  and confidence.

Considering the economic climate this year it has been pleasing to still see the continued enthusiasm for the work experience programmes. We are really indebted to local businesses for their continued support especially at this continued time of economic uncertainty. This year has been highly successful for all students concerned and a great deal of that success has been the way business firms have got alongside the programme.

Thank you for your community spirit. We look forward to working with you in the future.

Dear Salon One,

Thank you for your genrous support of the Fostering Kids Family Fun Day.I especially appreciate this during these tough economic times.

Your help gives a fun day out for children in foster care, joined by children with special needs and disadvantage children. Everyone gets together with their families for an exciting fun time. The day is a fundrasiser for us too – alowwing us to support fostering families throughout the year.

Foster parents loves these pool and film parties. Fostering isn’t easy – the families deserve the treat you help provide.

While branded as the Fostering Kids Family Fun Day, it is not just for children in foster care. Entry coupons are also given to children with special needs and other deserving children. It’s important that children in foster care have fun together with other children who have a tough start to life.

Your donation is a wonderful act of kindness, thank you.

Warmest regards

To Angela & Staff at Salon One The Cove

THANK YOU!!

During our ride on Mower race day this year, we were able to raise nearly $10000 from the incredible community response to our Silent Auction fundraiser, but it can be be successful with the phenomenal support and sponsorship of businesses such as your own!

We would like to take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude for your donation to the 2011 Silent Auction. Each year we are amazed by the wonderful people in the local business community who are willing to step forward and support children of our area. We know that our school appreciates your support but so too does the school community as it sees the continued benefits in the development of our school that is the result of this fundrasing. This year, the proceeds from auction are going towards Teaching Resources such as computer resources and Teacher Aide time.

Once again thank you for your sponsorship! We hope you got a chance to enjoy the day yourselves – or perhaps you can pop it on your calender for next year!!

Dear Angela,

On behalf of Pyes Pa School PTA I am writing to thank you so much for your contribution to our annual Pyes Pa Calf Club and Gala Day.

We had another successful day in spite of the weather. Visitor’s numbers were surprisingly high given the conditions and a grand day was had by all. New exhibits and layout kept the feel of the day fresh and initial banking indicates the day was very beneficial for the school.

None of this would be been achievable without the support of our sponsors. We would not be able to host the event if not for the generosity of supportive businesses and community groups. We are incredibly greatful for your enthusiasm in the local community.

The feedback we have received from the day is very positive. It is wonderful to see all the families from the local community and beyond coming out for a great day filled with activities and points of interest for everyone and of course to see the kids having a great time and showcasing their talents from calf rearing to artwork. All in all, a great day out!

We hope that if you did manage to come along to our Calf Club and Gala Day this year that you also enjoyed what was on offer.

Once again a big THANK YOU from all of us for helping to make this day a huge success.

Kindest regards

Dear Supporter,

Thank you for providing support to our annual appeal, without your support it be be impossible for our organisation to assist special needs children and or oraganisations to improve their lives and services,

When Angels for Children Charitable Trust was first formed we didn’t know if other individuals in communities would appreciate that their are thousands of special needs children and services in communities that go without basic funding for some health, medical or educational services just because the applicant did not meet the requirements of specific agencies that have been set up to provide assistance for these children/organisations.

Over the last 7 years due to the support of individuals like you we have provided hundreds of thousands of dollars to assist special needs children and organsiations thoroughout NZ, this assistance sometimes comes in the form of providing specific products (medical, educational) or assisting in medical procedures that improve the child’s quality of life, thousands of special needs children have benefited through this assistance.

We at Angels for children charitable trust will continue to work hard to provide assistance through out between gaps grant programme, and will endavour to make a change whether it be small or life challenging to as many children throughout the community each year.

We appreciate that you have many options when providing support to non-profit organisations and it is fantastic to know that you believe in what we are trying to provide to individuals and groups with out between the Gaps funding grants.

Mike Sutton

Chairperson.

Dear Angela

We would like to say a big thank you for the part that you played in our Christmas Appeal. Without the help from Salon One and other local businesses, our appeal could never have been the success that it was.

Our appeal raised enough money, food and toy packages to help out 10 local families, consisting of 10 adults and 27 children. The difference that the packages made in the lives of these families was tremendous, and brought a lot of  joy into their lives at such a stressful time for them. Everyone of those families were truly grateful for the help that they received.

Thank you very much in helping make a difference in the community, and for helping us to continue helping single parent families.

Yours sincerly

Salon One gives back by buying toilet paper!

Over the past 2.5 years Salon One has quietly been helping to build school classrooms and homes overseas for the poor by buying quality NZ made toilet paper for the salon bathrooms. What? You may well ask!  It’s all part of Breakfree Expeditions “Wipe Away Poverty” campaign where households purchase quality toilet paper made by the same company as purex in cartons of 48. 100% of the profit from the sales of the toilet paper goes straight into buying building materials for the poor and homeless who live in countries like Mexico, Uganda and Cambodia.

“Thanks Salon One – The difference that you make in the lives of the families and orphans that we can help is just huge!” Says Diana Judge, founder of Breakfree Expeditions. So next time you use the guest toilet at Salon One you really are helping to wipe poverty away!

For more information on purchasing toilet paper to fund building materials please go to www.breakfreeexpeditions.com.
